PROJECT: GERMS

Artificial matter like concrete invades our surroundings, germinating and flourishing in various environments. The organic matter that grows in hostile environments such as concrete is treated as invading weed.

In both cases we treat them as enemies, invaders conquering a territory not permitted. We regulate the growth of construction, incriminating the corruption behind it, protecting our environment... but we are obsessed eliminating the invading weeds, the fungus and even the viruses.

The abandoned Altspital in Zug is a battlefield already invaded by natural decomposition. The memory of the fights against illnesses are latent in its cold rooms.

My germs are made of artificial matter, old tennis balls. They will be presented spreading around the entrance facade. They will try to threaten the entrance of the old hospital, the mouth of a large body through which the infection could invade.
